Stepping Stones Micro Grant – Summer 2023

Here at OutBritain we know that things have been challenging on businesses, and because of these circumstances, you may be putting off one of your next business venture/purchases to elevate your business. If you were given £500 to improve your business, how would you spend it? Now with our ‘Stepping Stones Micro Grant’ we aim to help pave the way to a smoother tomorrow.

The “Stepping Stones Micro Grant”, a Small Business Grant brought to you by OutBritain, offers financial assistance to support your business or get your next venture off the ground. The financial award is intended to help a current or future small business owner (who is also a member of the OutBritain – UK’s First LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce) with an investment in their business and facilitate bringing their venture to fruition. A total of four £500 grants are available. Winners will be announced in September 2023. UK-wide applications will be reviewed by a panel of members and partners from OutBritain, NGLCC, and respected business leaders.

“The Stepping Stones Micro Grant”, An Entrepreneurial Grant Sponsored by OutBritain considers many factors when assessing applicants, including:

• A proven track record of leadership and community involvement
• Strong academic and/or work experience
• An entrepreneurial spirit
• Working for the betterment of the LGBTQ+ community
• “Out” as a person who identifies as LGBTQ+/Ally
• A full-time resident of the UK (minimum two years)
• Intent to use funds toward the start-up costs of a local business or as an infusion to an existing business with a panel approved business plan
• Financial need
