DESCRIPTION:The Big Queer Business Meet-Up is a quarterly event that takes place at the Social Refuge, a queer-friendly venue with a café/bar, Although they serve alcohol it’s relatively hidden, it doesn’t encourage people to drink. They have a wonderful book section selling queer books, an awesome place to mingle and ample seating. The event is designed to foster a support network for small businesses.\n \nThe evening begins with casual networking, followed by a more structured networking session where attendees discuss their successes, current projects, potential collaborations, and areas where they need help. The evening concludes with more casual networking.\n \nAttendees are typically sole traders, Community Interest Companies (CICs), or owners of limited companies, most of whom do not have employees but work with contractors. While the event is free, attendees are expected to purchase their own drinks if they wish to have them. Please note that the venue does not serve food. The event runs from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.\n \nThis meet-up encourages members to maintain ongoing relationships and follow up with each other between events, fostering a strong and supportive community to share each other’s businesses through Networking.\n \nAgenda \n17:30: Arrival \n17:45: Welcome & Introduction \n18:00: Guest Speaker\n18:30: Networking \n19:25: Closing Remarks \n20:00: End \nAbout Social Refuge \nSocial Refuge stands out as a unique sanctuary for those seeking a blend of intellectual stimulation and relaxation. This exquisite venue beautifully marries the charm of a bookshop with the cosy warmth of a coffee house and the sophisticated allure of a bar. \nAdditional Information \nSocial Refuge prides itself on providing a safe space and, as such, requires you to sign in at the beginning of the event. Please arrive promptly. \nThe front of the venue has step-free access and accessible, gender-neutral toilets via a lift down to the basement space. \nReusable name and pronoun badges will be available upon entry.
